Governor Ododo Intervenes in Alleged Killing, Calls for Peace in Kogi

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has taken decisive steps to address tensions following the alleged killing of a Fulani individual in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area.

In an effort to prevent potential reprisal attacks, the governor convened an emergency security meeting involving top government officials, security agencies, community leaders, and representatives of the Fulani community.

During the meeting, Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and assured that those responsible for the killing would be brought to justice. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to upholding law and order, stressing that no act of violence would be condoned.

In a bid to uncover the facts, the governor directed the interrogation of certain traditional rulers from the affected area. One traditional ruler was also suspended for alleged involvement in the incident.

The governor called on community leaders to educate their people on the importance of avoiding actions that threaten security and to report criminal activities to law enforcement authorities.

The meeting ended with a renewed commitment from all parties to foster harmony and ensure the safety of all residents. Governor Ododo’s prompt intervention underscores his dedication to preventing further unrest and promoting coexistence in the state.
