FG Allocates ₦1.77bn to Boost Animal Health,  Livestock Management

 The Federal Government of Nigeria has earmarked ₦1.77 billion in the 2025 budget to enhance animal health, disease prevention, and sustainable livestock management. This initiative is part of efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector and promote food security across the country.

In addition to this allocation, the government has proposed ₦180 billion for federal universities of agriculture and research institutes in the 2025 budget. Beneficiaries include institutions such as the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and the National Veterinary Research Institute, Vom, among others.

These investments reflect the government’s commitment to driving agricultural development, bolstering research, and ensuring food security for Nigeria’s growing population.

The 2025 budget underscores the administration’s focus on agricultural innovation and infrastructure, aiming to position Nigeria as a leading player in Africa’s agricultural sector.
