Plateau State partners with Defence Holdings for major agricultural project

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has assured Defence Holdings Company Limited (DHCL) of his administration’s support in establishing Defence Farms and Agro-Allied Products in Wase Local Government Area. The ambitious project, which involves an initial allocation of 30,000 hectares of land, is set to boost food production and enhance security in the region.

The Governor’s commitment to the project aligns with his broader efforts to strengthen security and promote agricultural development in Plateau State. By partnering with DHCL, the state government aims to leverage the company’s expertise and resources to drive growth in the agricultural sector. The initiative is expected to create new opportunities for farmers, stimulate economic growth, and improve food security in the region.

Governor Mutfwang has also been working to reclaim land previously under bandit control in Wase, making it available for agricultural investment. This initiative forms a key part of the state’s efforts to promote peace and stability, while driving economic development.
