The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched an emergency food and nutrition support program for vulnerable groups in Plateau State. The initiative, led by Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, aims to cushion the impact of food insecurity and economic hardship on households affected by climate disruptions, insecurity, and displacement.
The program includes distribution of food and nutrition assistance, as well as support for livelihood restoration, skills development, and agricultural productivity. The government also plans to expand the National Social Register to identify and integrate vulnerable households into social protection programs.
This initiative is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, focusing on restoring dignity and improving the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians
