Dayo Thomas
The Tony Elumelu Foundation is driving change in Nigerian agriculture through innovative approaches and strategic partnerships. By advocating for public-private collaborations, they’re set to transform African agribusiness, tackling key challenges like electricity access, blended finance, and business education to attract youth to the sector.
The foundation has empowered over 24,000 entrepreneurs across Africa, with 21% venturing into agribusiness, resulting in approximately 480,000 jobs created. Their focus areas include critical aspects of agriculture, such as plant and animal health, food safety, and sustainable practices.
The Tony Elumelu Foundation is also partnering with SheFarmers Initiative to boost female participation in Nigerian agribusiness, enhancing access to funding for rural women. This collaboration aims to bridge the gender gap and promote inclusive growth in the sector.
