Federal Government Shortlists 65 Students for N50 Million Venture Capital Grant

The Federal Government of Nigeria has shortlisted 65 student innovators for the N50 million Student Venture Capital Grant. These students were selected from a pool of 30,639 applicants across 404 tertiary institutions nationwide. The grant is part of President Bola Tinubu’s initiative to boost innovation and entrepreneurship among young Nigerians
The grant is open to undergraduate students in STEMM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Sciences) and provides up to N50 million in equity-free funding, incubation support, and mentorship. Agricultural innovations, including biotechnology and agricultural research, are also covered under the Science category
The selected students will participate in an intensive venture development bootcamp from March 26 to 29, 2026, which includes pitch sessions, workshops, and investor-style feedback. The final recipients of the grant will be announced on March 29, 2026, at the Student Venture Capital Grant Beneficiary Awards Day
