Origin Tech and OAU Join Forces to Boost Nigeria’s Food Security

Origin Tech Group Nigeria Limited has partnered with Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) to drive innovation and growth in Nigeria’s agricultural sector. This strategic collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both partners, combining Origin Tech’s expertise in agriculture and agribusiness with OAU’s academic excellence and research capabilities.

The partnership involves setting up a state-of-the-art agricultural centre in Southwest Nigeria, focusing on mechanization, capacity building, and manpower development. This centre will provide a platform for scholars and young minds studying agriculture to gain hands-on experience and exposure to modern farming methods, equipping them with the skills needed to drive the sector’s growth.

According to Olusesan Ayeni, Executive Director of Corporate Services at Origin Tech Group, the partnership will create a corridor of excellence and opportunities, deepening Nigeria’s food system and ensuring food security. By promoting practical, knowledge-driven, and modern farming methods, the initiative is expected to have a significant impact on Nigeria’s agricultural sector and contribute to the country’s economic development.
