Botswana is poised to transform its agricultural landscape with the launch of BOTSAT-1, the country’s first agricultural satellite.. This groundbreaking initiative is a result of a strategic partnership between the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) and EnduroSat, a renowned Bulgarian aerospace company. By harnessing cutting-edge satellite technology, Botswana aims to revolutionize its approach to farming and resource management.

BOTSAT-1 is a state-of-the-art microsatellite equipped with a hyperspectral camera, designed to provide critical data for Botswana’s mining and agricultural sectors. The satellite will offer invaluable insights into soil composition, ground quality, and other vital factors, empowering farmers and policymakers to make informed decisions. This data will be instrumental in optimizing agricultural practices, predicting crop yields, and identifying areas for improvement.
